Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Protection Project

USAID 2009-Present

OSC is advising on the design of baseline public opinion research on IPR. OSC will utilize the results of this research to inform the design and implementation of a public education strategy to increase public awareness of the importance of IPR. The strategy will include increasing government capacity to communicate IPR objectives and promoting national pride through the creation of a national branding strategy for key products.

Tax Reform Activity (TARA)
USAID 2006-2007
OSC is developing a public awareness campaign to maximize voluntary tax payer compliance by increasing the understanding of all taxpayers (corporate and individual) of their rights and responsibilities under new tax laws. The campaign focuses on correcting prevailing misunderstandings about the new laws and describing those features which mark the greatest change from the prior system.

Enabling Labor Mobility (ELMO)

USAID 2006-2009

OSC has been retained to develop a public education strategy to build public support for new workforce and labor laws.

Public Information for Bosnia Cluster Competitiveness Activity

USAID 2004-2008

OSC designed and implemented a public information campaign targeting workers and entrepreneurs within the agribusiness, wood and furniture, and tourism industries. OSC built the capacity of key stakeholders to deliver coordinated messages at press briefings, conferences, public roundtables with local leaders, and town hall meetings with citizens. OSC led a series of media seminars that increased journalist capacity to report on topics such as productivity at the workforce level; supply chain issues; innovations in marketing and promotion; e-commerce; and export statistics and export success stories.

Public Education and Information in Support of Privatization

USAID 1997 - 2000

OSC developed and implemented a strategy to build awareness, understanding and support for a denationalization model and legislative package in BiH and Republika Srpska. Based on OSC's public opinion research, the public outreach team developed, in coordination with government counterparts, an animated computer presentation for the RS Parliament that addressed each negative perception of privatization. OSC collaborated with over 150 community based refugee associations and groups active in the region, which dramatically increased the flow of information to targeted communities. In coordination with regional NGOs and government offices, OSC developed a network of 110 trainers and lecturers, resulting in over 820 workshops on privatization, market reform, apartment purchase options, frozen foreign currency, and privatization investment funds. To keep policy makers informed of developments in economic reform and public reaction to reform, OSC distributed weekly media summaries to over 300 ministers, parliamentarians, international diplomats, members of the donor community, and NGOs.
