Community Action Program

In a complex security environment, OSC designed and implemented the Citizen Participation Component of the Community Action Program in Iraq, providing technical support to community committees in the creation of weekly community forums, which served as the critical communications link between citizens, local government, reform experts, and community leaders. OSC's Community Forums were a key element in the process of strengthening local government commitment to keeping the public informed about economic and community development.
