Public Information in Support of Privatization
USAID 1994
OSC designed and implemented a USAID-funded privatization public education campaign in Uzbekistan. OSC provided public education support for cash auctions and implemented a public education program in support of small and medium-scale privatization. Specific activities under this program included: provision of educational seminars for journalists in an effort to disseminate accurate information regarding cash auctions; building coalitions among journalists and the State Property Fund of Uzbekistan to address the challenge of information distribution; production of video and printed materials for employees of the State Property Fund of Uzbekistan in an effort to facilitate cash auctions in Tashkent; and collaboration with local printing agencies to produce information brochures, posters and signs in support of Uzbekistan's cash auctions.
