Communications Outreach Programa for Cocoa Farmers
2004-2005

The communications campaign reaches untrained cocoa farmers in Sulawesi with messages about cocoa production, pest and disease control, quality improvement and marketing skills. This serves to create an information context within which farmers can begin to apply new cocoa production and marketing strategies. The messages increase the profile of cocoa as a crop worthy of farmer investment, plant seeds of knowledge for farmers yet to take part in training, reinforce lessons learned in training, and support information sharing when untrained farmers meet alumni.

As a subcontractor to ACDI/VOCA, OSC's role was to design SUCCESS Alliance's communication program in Sulawesi, Indonesia and to recommend staff to implement the program.
