Publicity Campaign for Privatization of Medium and Large Enterprises
OSC provided technical assistance, training and strategic guidance to support the Publicity Campaign for Privatization in Tajikistan. OSC worked side by side with local counterparts to increase transparency in the privatization process and generate interest on the part of investors and buyers in order to increase competition. OSC conducted surveys and focus groups with present and potential bidders to determine information such as their level of awareness of the privatization program, where they were most likely to obtain their information, and the greatest problems and barriers to participation in the process. OSC assisted state agencies in Tajikistan in implementing the campaign by preparing necessary materials and messages, procuring required media space and time, setting up a monitoring and evaluation system for measuring the nature and level of complaints, and forming a state forum to address grievances.
